Created on January 1, 2016, the Tribunal administratif du travail (the TAT) results from the merger of the Commission des lésions professionnelles (the CLP) and the Commission des relations du travail (the CRT). The Tribunal rules on numerous labour proceedings, including occupational health and safety. With offices throughout Québec, the Tribunal's services are accessible to all citizens.

The Tribunal fosters the amicable settlement of disputes through its conciliation service. The parties also have the option of being heard by an administrative judge at a hearing.

The Tribunal sits in four divisions.

Labour relations division: This division rules on proceedings pertaining to employment protection, freedom of association, bargaining rights and pay equity.

Occupational health and safety division: This division hears proceedings filed by employers and workers who contest a decision rendered by Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CNESST).

Essential services division: The mission of this division is to ensure that essential services are maintained in order to protect the population’s health and safety during legal strikes and illegal pressure tactics.

Construction industry and occupational qualification division: This division is responsible for hearing proceedings provided for in legislation concerning the construction industry.
